There is a large rally being scheduled at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park (1410 South Museum Campus Drive), immediately east of Soldier Field this Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00am.  The the sole purpose of this rally is to urge San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick to stand for the National Anthem when the Bears play the 49ers at Soldier Field on Sunday, December 4, 2016.

We are asking that supporters of our Gold Star families, Military Veterans, Police Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics and concerned Chicagoans meet at Soldier Field on Saturday and stand together for the National Anthem in front of our Memorial Wall and in the shadow of Soldier Field; which is more than just a football stadium, it is a memorial to all those who sacrificed their lives for our Nation.

Retired Alderman James Balcer, United States Marine, Vietnam Veteran and event organizer will address the rally, as will Mr. Jim Frazier, who is the Father of Staff Sergeant Jacob Frazier who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2003.  Also speaking is Gold Star Families Chairperson and Chicago Police Officer Kurt Kaner; Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Executive Director Philip J. Cline; Chicago Firefighter Union Local 2 President Tom Ryan and Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Lodge 7 President Dean C. Angelo, Sr.
