$20 Million Given in Assistance to Chicago Police Families in Need

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring the lives of our fallen heroes. The Foundation provides support and assistance to the families of Chicago police officers who are killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty.

Helmets for Heroes

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation continues to answer the call for help. Upon being asked by the Superintendent, CPMF immediately purchased 1,750 ballistic helmets for our officers on the frontlines. These new, upgraded helmets include Kevlar protection and laser beam reflectors on the face shield.

CPMF License Plates

Specialty license plates for both vehicles and motorcycles featuring the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s logo are available for purchase through the IL Secretary of State. These plates are permanent and renewable.

Get Behind the Vest

A vest isn’t bulletproof forever. It wears out. It breaks down. It needs to be replaced every 5 years. That’s why we need your help. Your donation ensures that every officer out there protecting you is protected.

Things don’t happen the way you see on Chicago PD or Law and Order. Oftentimes, investigations take months or longer, and require perseverance, experience, and collaboration from officers across multiple units, all in pursuit of the same thing—justice for the victim’s family and accountability for the offender. That’s what happened in this case, and their work deserves recognition. Their hard work and perseverance led to juvenile offenders being taken off the street. Congratulations to April's Officers of the Month!

Why I Run: "Every year I participate in the Run to Remember to honor my husband Paul Bauer who was killed in the line of duty on February 13, 2018. When I hear about the death of another officer on duty, I relive that horrible day. I share the pain of those in my same shoes. I don’t want anyone to go through what I’ve been through. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation has been there for me from the very beginning of this journey. By fundraising for the Run to Remember, it’s my small way of giving back and helping other families who are suffering a tragic loss. Paul was proud to be a Chicago Police Officer and I am proud to run in his name! Grace and I miss you and love you, Paul!"- Erin B.

Why We Run: “Explosive Detection K9, K9 Rozi has a far reach on social media and we wanted to dedicate ourselves to a cause that meant a lot to us and use that to give back. Being a Chicago Police veteran of 19 years, I knew this was important to me and my family. Every year, as we run we think of the names of all our brothers and sisters that were taken from us. We think of those injured and no longer able to work. And we pray for their families. We run, raise as much as we can and push ourselves for them.” -P.O. IBARRA & K-9 RŌZI

What an incredible donation from Dante Deiana of Good Night John Boy - Chicago and White Sox Dave of Barstool Chicago! They raised $13,000 in support of 19th Ward Alderman Matt O'Shea's and David Hochberg's WGN Get Behind the Vest Fundraiser! Pictured is Sgt. James Kurth, who was shot in his vest the very first day he wore it. Thankfully, he is here to tell the story and the importance of this lifesaving campaign.
